The Long Branch Concordance (LBC) is pleased to announce that it was recently awarded a $200,000 grant from the State of New Jersey Department of Children and Families (DCS) to establish a Family Success Center. LBC is the only agency in Monmouth County to receive the contract.
The Family Success Center is designed to strengthen families and empower individuals to acquire the knowledge and skills they need to raise healthy and happy children. The purpose of each Family Success Center is to work in to develop networks of family services that result in preventing child abuse and neglect and fostering healthy families; reduce isolation and build connections within families, between families and to the community.
New Jersey is among four leading states (Maryland, Georgia and California) across the nation that have made statewide investments in neighborhood centers dedicated to strengthening families. The centers will collaborate with partners in the community, including the families they serve, for guidance on what programs and services should be made available to help empower individuals to build strong families and be good parents.
“We would like to thank the state for providing this tremendous opportunity to the families here in Long Branch. The LBC board and staff have worked tirelessly to become the designated Family Success Center, one of 15 in the state and we look forward to working in partnership with our families, businesses and organizations to meet the goals of this important mission,” said Debi Heptig, Executive Director of the Long Branch Concordance.
