About the Long Branch Concordance & the Family Success Center:
The Long Branch Concordance is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) agency incorporated in 2005 to address the needs of greater Long Branch residents. All of our services are made available FREE OF CHARGE through the support of grants and donations. In July 2007 we were awarded a contract by the State Department of Human Services to be one of New Jersey’s 31 Family Success Centers.
The LBC Family Success Center links families, children and people of all ages and cultures to needed resources that help with issues such as health care, housing, substance abuse, rent and utilities, employment, recreation, child care, financial guidance and translation. Our goal is to inform, educate and empower families to succeed.
In addition, we promote community strength through resources and alliances by working with individuals and families one-on-one, as well as organizing, networking and collaborating with agencies, organizations, business, churches and other faith-based organizations and community members towards better serving the needs of the community.
• Confidential Information and Referral
Guests drop-in or schedule appointments to meet with our trained, qualified Family Support Workers who provide links to needed resources. Our staff also helps guests navigate the provider systems by offering translation, help with scheduling appointments and understanding eligibility guidelines. We are family advocates.
• Family Room
With a friendly environment and a children’s corner, our family room features a resource library with bilingual resources and educational materials to promote positive family development and provide effective prevention tools. The center is also a place for people to meet for peer to peer support.
• Guest Business Center
Provides two workstations equipped with computers/phone/fax/printer for guests to use to find jobs, receive help to complete job/school applications or create and fax resumes and applications. Our workstations are linked to the Workforce Investment Board’s One-Stop Center for job postings and employment services. Staff, volunteers and business leaders provide on-site assistance.
• Service Provider Station
Service providers with offices outside of Long Branch are able to meet with their Long Branch clients here at our center. Currently Monmouth County Division of Social Services (MCDSS) and Division of Youth and
Family Services (DYFS) offer regular on-site hours.
• Training and Development Center
Our center offers free educational programs and workshops at our locale that are facilitated by local business people, skilled volunteers and service providers covering topics such as pregnancy and nutrition, financial planning and more.
• In-Community
Monthly meetings are held in the community engaging service providers and community members in open discussions about a variety of issues and topics. Past meetings have focused on youth recreation, faith-based programs, housing, mental health, substance abuse and employment.
• Volunteers and Interns
All help the LBCFSC broaden our ability to meet needs and to engage residents in the work of the Center.

The LBCFSC works in partnership with a variety of formal and informal service providers and civic organizations to build on existing programs, to expand capacity of services and to link services more closely to citizens of Long Branch.
