2008 Back To Basics Fair

The Long Branch Concordance (LBC) welcomes the greater Long Branch area community to attend its second annual 2008 Back to Basics Fair to be held on Saturday, August 23, 2008, from 11:30-3:30 p.m., in Slocum Park, Long Branch. The fun-filled event will provide area residents with FREE information about local social services and resources, back to school supplies, t-shirts and health screenings. The fair will also feature food and entertainment, activities for children such as face painting and balloon animals, service provider stations and more.

Organizations participating in the fair include St. James Episcopal Church, Ocean-Monmouth Legal Services, Bank of America, Amanda’s Easel (a program of 180 Turning Lives Around), Huntington Learning Center, Prevention First, Horizon N.J. Health, St. Luke’s Methodist Church, Healthy Families, Black Infant Mortality Reduction Program, RPCMOC Lead Program, Literacy Volunteers of Monmouth County, American Red Cross - Jersey Coast Chapter, The Bridge of Books Foundation, Americhoice, NAMI - Greater Monmouth, Monmouth Medical Center Community Health Education, Centro Cultural Solnascente, USA, Long Branch Free Public Library, Midwives of Monmouth, New Life Chiropractic, N.J. Safe Roads: Division of Highway Traffic Safety, Youth Advocate program and Capoeira Sol Nascente, Long Branch.

Local organizations and service providers are invited to set up tables at the fair with information, hand-outs and projects for kids. Because tables are limited, we ask that organizations bring their own tables and tents if available. Please contact Emma J. BrewSips

Join the LBC for a tasting of unique brews, bubbly beer cocktails and delectable fare during a colorful night of art and jazz on November 6th from 6-8 p.m. at SICA in Long Branch. Featuring musical artists A Cool Blues Duo. Beer provided by Court Liquors, Long Branch, and the Hunterdon Brewing Co. and hors d'oeuvres courtesy of My Kitchen Witch Cafe, Monmouth Beach.
